DEP Coral Reef Prog. Stakeholder Engagement Project Committee Meeting
The University of Florida and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection’s Coral Reef Conservation Program announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.
DEP’s Coral Reef Conservation Program is supporting a Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative (SEFCRI) stakeholder engagement project. Selected participants, or committee members, will represent various fisheries-related stakeholder groups to harness the capacity of the fishing community (fishing stakeholders and industry) to advance conservation of the Kristin Jacobs Coral Reef Ecosystem Conservation Area (Coral ECA). This capacity includes knowledge/experience, outreach/advocacy, and standing and commitment to achieving conservation outcomes for resources and the coral reef ecosystem.
During this 8th committee meeting, facilitators will lead discussions with committee members regarding the following:
- Review water quality initiatives in the Coral ECA
- Identify potential set of criteria for water quality
- Co-develop survey for constituency
